For over three decades, the WBA has provided a focal point and
administration organisation for basketball from all around the County

Catering for men, ladies and junior basketball, the Area run competitions which suit the demand. The men's league features players of all ages. ranging from 15 to 60, and skills which embrace novices to former National League stars. Women's basketball is represented too although the Association does not presently run its own league. There are plans in hand to amend this, and there are pockets of thriving youth development in the County too.

The Area also runs courses for coaches, table officials and
referees to improve their own special skills and qualify under the EBA schemes, ensuring that the highest standards are maintained and developed throughout all aspects of the game.
