JAMIE’S SHOOTING IS OH SO COUL!

Debut-man Jamie Coulson took all the honours as Rugby Rage beat Leamington Spartans 1 with two free-shots and the clock standing at zero to send the South Warwickshire side home pointless. Coulson (pictured while with Tornadoes), who has been out of the game with a serious injury made his comeback, this time in the Rugby colours and made an immediate impact but saved thebest till last as he calmly slotted home his two shots to send Rage into a frenzy. Then, to add insult ot injury the Leamington second-string met a similar fate at Westwood as they too sent down by a single point to complete a miserable week.

Ernesford Eagles started the ball rolling last Friday when they defeated Rebels by two, but that was nothing compared to these fixtures which went even closer to the wire. There were regulation victories for both Arden Griffins and Tile Hill Trojans 1, before Tamworth Tigers followed suit to consolidate third place, while Aylesford hawks and Rugby fight it out for fourth and fifth. Division Two leaders Nuneaton 1 had a tough fight but came through against Trojans 3, Nuneaton’s second team are on a sabbatical until after Christmas, with their game at Westwood next week being taken by the first team – the fixture with Predators 2 will be slotted in later.

HAWKS CRASH TO LOSS AS FLAMES BURN BRIGHTLY……

Warwickshire Hawks crashed to a spectacular home defeat at the hands of Stourport Spartans, letting a 17 lead go in the final quarter after being 70-53 up into the last ten.

It had all looked comfortable for the Hawks, leading 41-34 at half-time and extending this in style, before that almighty stumble which left them on their knees. Mark Yates led for Hawks on 18 and Curtis Hadley had 16 for the Hawks who visit Stoke on Trent Knights tomorrow (Saturday).

Coventry Flames fared differently as they travelled to Mansfield Giants and took all the points as they won 91-78. Flames were in superior mode either side of half-time when they built their lead, going 47-41 up at the break before adding a further seven in the third to get the result they wanted. This Sunday Flames entertain University of Wolverhampton at the Coventry Leisure Centre starting at 2.45pm.
