Division One’s top four sides are now clear of the pack after impressive victories this week. Leaders Arden Griffins eased past Rugby as Trojans 1 slammed Warwick China Red, Aylesford Hawks and Tamworth Tigers both won too as a gap appears in the table. Grizzlies closed in on Nuneaton at the top of Division Two with a win over Rebels, but Ernesford are hoping to upset things tonight at Grace when the Warwick side visit them. Nuneaton 1 are back on the winning trail with victory over Tornadoes and Trojans 3 wrapped things up early at Rebels.
Now it’s back to the cups with the semi-finals taking place in the big one and unaccustomed to their role they will play, Griffins turn out in the Plate.

NEW APPOINTMENT FOR WARWICKSHIRE BASKETBALL……
We are delighted to advise that Warwickshire Basketball have made a new appointment this week and that Dan Zoka has taken over the role of Officials Development Officer. Dan, formerly a player at Aylesford and now a member of Leamington Spartans, joined the Executive Committee in 2019 and was the winner of the Table Officiating Award for 2019. He has expressed an interest in developing not only his own skills as a a player and table official but also as a referee, and he will now be responsible for the coordination of all aspects of officials’ development in the Area.
This includes arranging of courses and the Officiating Conference which takes place in September.
IF YOU HAVE AN INTEREST IN BECOMING INVOLVED IN THE RUNNING OF OUR GREAT SPORT PLEASE CONTACT US – DETAILS AT THE END OF THIS BULLETIN.
ABSENTEES MEANS LEVEL ONE COURSE RUNS AT A LOSS….
You may recall the Level 1 Referees’ course which was organised by Nuneaton before Christmas. Twelve candidates signed up for the event (pictured) but several cried off days before it took place leaving Nuneaton with a deficit in their finances.
As it was authorised by Warwickshire Basketball we have had to fill in the missing numbers from our Development Fund. Therefore in future all courses will have to be paid for PRIOR to them taking place and we would take this opportunity to remind ALL clubs that there is an obligation to send people on our courses if they have not the required number of officials on their books.
Rule 10 applies and can be found on the Warwickshire Basketball website.
DAN WILL BE CONTACTING ALL CLUBS TO CONFIRM THEIR NUMBERS.
